Global Water Technology, Inc. Announces Michael J. Landers as Chief Operating Officer

South Holland, IL – March 3, 2021 – Global Water Technology, Inc. (GWT) today announced that Michael Landers has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, a new position within GWT.

Effective immediately, Landers will assume responsibility for engineering, sales, marketing, operations, commercial, strategy and services organizations.  Landers will be responsible for the alignment and prioritization of company investments, growth and ensuring operational excellence across the company.

Landers joined Global Water Technology from Sodexo, where as Vice President, National Buildings and Grounds expanded the business through 32 months of continuous revenue growth.  Before Sodexo, he held a number of executive positions at United Airlines/United Continental Holdings.  There he was at the helm of Global Catering Operations and Airport Lounges, where he had P&L responsibility for this $1.5 billion business. He served as a customer experience and operations leader, oversaw global onboard catering operations across 150 cities and led nearly 5,000 employees with impact on 150 million customers. He created and launched reimagined onboard dining and lounges globally with Polaris, elevated United’s onboard dining across all cabins to wide acclaim enabling United to attain an industry leadership position, and led a global transformation initiative that reduced risk, enhanced production quality, improved cost, and achieved operational excellence. While leading Design and Construction for the airline, Landers served as the chief for the corporate relocation of United’s world headquarters to Willis Tower in Chicago, the design and development of the industry-leading network operations center and North America’s first enterprise data center to deploy Kyoto Cooling’s air-side economization solution which provides for the most economical and efficient data center cooling technology available globally.

Landers proudly serves on the Board of Directors of two impactful organizations, Urban Initiatives and SOS Children’s Villages Illinois.
