Support Services Technician - Chicago, IL Area - Entry to Intermediate Experience

We are looking to add a Service Technician to our Support Services Division.

GWT’s Support Services Division provides installation, troubleshooting, and technical assistance company wide to all of GWT’s diverse clients.

The ideal candidate will have relevant training or a proven track record in plumbing, construction, electrical, or other relevant field. We do not require the candidate to have water treatment knowledge. Training will be provided.

Service technician responsibilities:

  • Installation of water conditioning equipment
  • Troubleshooting and service of water conditioning equipment
  • Cooling tower cleaning and disinfections
  • Closed loop cleaning and disinfection
  • Descaling of steam and cooling systems
  • Installation of chemical control systems
  • Installation of closed loop pot feeders and filter vessels
  • Installation of water meters and blow down valves
  • Assist other technicians in installations of various water treatment related equipment .

Relevant skills include:

  • Completes work assignments and priorities.
  • Comply with safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assemble pipe sections with appropriate fittings.
  • Rough -in installation of piping.
  • Measure pipe prior to installation .
  • Join pipe by soldering ,bonding, cementing,  clamping and brazing.
  • Attach pipe to walls structures and other fittings.
