The Situation

A large, 82 acre, liberal arts college with a central utility plant and twenty five plus buildings with individual HVAC systems requested proposals from four water treatment firms in an effort to standardize and modernize their water treatment program. The university had two vendors, many untreated facilities, frequent steam boiler tube failures, no biological control procedures, and outdated treatment infrastructure.

The Solution

GWT proposed a holistic approach which included a staged approach to meeting the goals of the university through equipment upgrades, development of a ASHRAE Standard 188 compliant Water Management Program, on-line monitoring of HVAC equipment, quarterly operator training seminars, and cloud based data management.
